Empowering Young Muslim Girls Through Self-Defense

Integrating Islamic Values with Real-Life Safety Skills

At Highridge School, we believe in nurturing confident, capable young girls who are prepared for all aspects of life. Our sheDefense program represents our commitment to holistic education that aligns with our core Islamic values.

Community Responsibility

Empowering girls to become positive contributors to their communities

Confidence with Modesty

Why Traditional Education Leaves Girls Unprepared

While we excel at academic preparation, most schools overlook a critical life skill: personal safety awareness. Our girls navigate complex environments daily, yet receive no formal training in recognizing risks or responding confidently.

This isn't about living in fear – it's about building the situational awareness and confidence that transforms how girls move through the world.

Did You Know?

85% of personal safety is prevention and awareness, not physical confrontation.

Scenario-Based Training: Where Theory Meets Real Life

Forget choreographed moves that rarely work outside the dojo. Our sheDefense program immerses girls in realistic scenarios they might actually encounter.

Situational Awareness

Reading environments, identifying exits, trusting intuition and recognizing potential risks before they escalate.

Verbal Defense

De-escalation techniques, assertive communication, boundary setting, and using voice as the first line of defense.

Physical Techniques

Simple, effective moves that work regardless of size or strength, focusing on escape and creating distance.

Psychological Empowerment

Building confidence, resilience, quick decision-making, and the mindset that prioritizes safety over politeness.

Holistic Integration

Connecting physical safety to overall wellness, self-advocacy, and building a supportive community of empowered girls.
